On Sunday, Sept. 22, ELEEF held the 3rd Annual Run For Education 5K run/walk to support our initiative of enhancing the education in East Longmeadow Public Schools. The rain stopped in time for this fun event, and the turn out was great!

Congratulations to our top overall runners:
Simon Wanjigi,19, of Indian Orchard with an impressive time of 17:43, and for the third year in a row, Jackie Evans, 38, of East Longmeadow with an equally impressive time of 18:40. They each won a $50 gift card to Fred's Shoes!

Other top runners by category include:
Age 14-18- Kiana Eaton of Springfield, Nick Brown of East Longmeadow.
Age 19-29- Sarah Couillou of Springfield, Matthew Tryon of East Longmeadow.

Following the 5K, we held the Annual Kids Fun Run, sponsored this year by Busy Bees Preschool. Thanks to all of the kids that ran, received a medal, and to Busy Bees for the great shirts!

2013 Annual Golf Tournament


The weather co-operated and we had a great golf tournament on June 3. Thank you to every player and dinner guest for your support. Thank you also to the many corporate, personal and raffle sponsors. Our events could not succeed without you! We hope to see all of you next year!

Congratulations to our top golfers, Adam Oliveri, Jay Medvec, Ed Prendergast and John Doe with a score of 58! They each won $65 in the pro shop.

Second place goes to Tim Knight, John Adamo, Pete Avdoulous and Dave Corcoran with a score of 60! They each won $50 in the pro shop.

Third place goes to Jason Newmark, Mike Delgallo, Don LePage and Bill Patten with a score of 62! They each won $35 in the pro shop.

Fourth place goes to Martin Grudgen, Jim Welch, Jeff Reilly, and Dave Cotter with a score of 63! They each won $25 in the pro shop.

The East Longmeadow Educational Endowment Fund recently held the 18th annual Dinner Dance for Education at Twin Hills Country Club. Over 200 people shared in the fun and were treated to a great, multi-cultural meal, a wine tasting sponsored by Tudor House Wine and Spirits of East Longmeadow, and dancing to the music of DJ Jon O Neill.

Congratulations to this year's grant recipients. A total of $20,550 was granted to fund some very exciting things for our classrooms and schools. This year, for the first time, ELEEF joined with the East Longmeadow Rotary Club to fund one of the grants as noted. Thank you to them for their generous support!

Our Second Annual 5K run/walk was a great success!
Congratulations to our top runners- finishing first for the women, for the second year in a row, Jackie Evans, with a time of 19:04!

We had a great turn out at our annual golf tournament held on Monday June 4. Thank you to everyone that golfed, joined us for dinner, and helped out throughout the day! We had over 100 golfers, a sponsor or 2 for each tee and many donated raffle prizes. Thank you to everyone for your contributions!

Our winning team with a score of 59, despite the weather, was Al Kasper Dave Texeira,Jeff Davenport,Dave Lyman. Congratulations to them. They each won $65 in the pro shop.

Second place team, with a score of 60, Adam Quenneville, Rich Landry, Mark Cady and player # 4. Congratulations to them. They each won $50 in the pro shop.

Third place team, with a score of 61,Tim Knight, John Sawka, Marty Grudgen, and Rick Peterson. Congratulations to them. They each won $40 in the pro shop.

Over 200 people filled Twin Hills Country Club for our annual Dinner Dance for Education. Guests enjoyed delicious food stations paired with wines from around the world. Movie Night 2011
Movie Night 2011
Approximately 400 children and adults turned out for our first ever family movie night to watch the newly released movie, Rio. Children from pre-k to grade 5 enjoyed the movie, many in their pajamas, while parents enjoyed the opportunity to socialize. Raffles were held and snacks were sold, helping to raise approx. $900! Thank you to everyone that participated.

Congratulations to our raffle winners Jen Law, Nicole Cava, Asia, Mark Sweeney, Jen Pelletier, Pat Joyce, Lisa Timm, Gina Mongeon, Angela Edwards, Todd Goudet and our grand prize winner Sue Guimarae who won the Disney basket valued at $600! We hope you enjoy your prizes!
